Biography
About David
David M. Alongi is the director of fixed income index management at Northern Trust Asset Management, responsible for leading the portfolio management and trading process for passive fixed-income portfolios. He oversees the management of a variety of commingled and segregated account strategies across a wide range of bond market sectors, maturities and currencies.
Prior to his current position, David was responsible for research, security selection and trading in the mortgage-backed sector. He was the portfolio manager for the Collective Mortgage Backed Securities Index Fund and various separate account client portfolios. In an earlier assignment, David was in the Treasury Department of Northern Trust, where he was responsible for interest rate risk management, hedging strategies for the balance sheet and managing the bank investment portfolio.
David earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois and an MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Chicago. He is a CFA® charterholder, a member of the CFA Society of Chicago, and an Associated Person of the National Futures Association.

Bond Index Fund
The Fund seeks to track the performance of the benchmark by investing in a broadly diversified mix of U.S. fixed-income securities.
Limited-Term U.S. Government Fund
The Fund seeks to maximize total return with minimal reasonable risk by investing in a broad range of high-quality securities with short-to-intermediate term maturities.
U.S. Government Fund
The Fund seeks a high level of current income and greater stability of principal than is generally available from longer-term, higher-yielding bonds by investing in a broad range of U.S. Government securities with intermediate-term maturities.
U.S. Treasury Index Fund
The Fund seeks to provide investment results approximating the performance of the benchmark by investing in a broad range of U.S. Treasury securities.
