About Morten

Morten Olsen is the chief of staff and head of business strategy for global fixed income. He is responsible for ensuring innovation, the continuity of business, and future business initiatives. He is chair of the fixed income business committee.

Previously at Northern Trust, he headed multi-sector portfolio management within the fixed income team, responsible for strategic priorities, asset growth and asset allocations. The ultra-short team of portfolio managers handles separately managed accounts for taxable and tax exempt mandates, as well as the two ultra-short fixed income mutual funds and an ultra-short exchange traded fund. He also worked six years in London as the lead portfolio manager responsible for the institutional euro, British pound and U.S. dollar cash funds.

Prior to joining Northern Trust in 2009, Morten worked for five years on the funding desk at Lehman Brothers and latterly Nomura. In both roles, he managed the investment of the bank’s liquidity pool.

Morten earned a master’s degree in economics and a bachelor’s degree in economics, both from University of Copenhagen.
