About Steve

Steve Carroll is the chief financial officer for Northern Trust Asset Management. He is a member of the asset management executive group and oversees all financial reporting and analysis for the asset management business. Steve is responsible for assessing, evaluating and communicating financial performance of the organization with respect to operational and strategic goals, as well as providing insights and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.

With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, Steve utilizes his strong analytical background and technical skillset to generate impactful results. Prior to joining the asset management business, Steve served as the chief financial officer for the west region of Northern Trust’s wealth management business for over two years and was the chief financial officer for the global family office for four years. He began his career with Northern Trust in the controllers group, and while there served as a financial analyst for the cost accounting and profitability team. From there, he joined the asset servicing finance team as a senior financial analyst. Before joining Northern Trust, Steve was a financial services practices consultant for BearingPoint and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Steve earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
