About Chris

Chris Roth is chief investment officer (CIO), global fixed income for Northern Trust Asset Management. Chris oversees the investment strategy, process and approach for the firm’s fixed income business globally.

Chris has over 35 years of financial industry experience. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Chris was at Morgan Stanley Investment Management. While there, he held several leadership roles in the firm’s fixed income business including chairman, broad markets fixed income, head of multi- sector fixed income, head of credit and global fixed income and co-head, global and European fixed income. Previously, Chris served as a portfolio manager and analyst while at Miller Anderson & Sherrerd before their acquisition by Morgan Stanley Investment Management. Before that, he was a senior associate at Dean Witter Capital Corporation.

Chris earned a bachelor’s of science in economics, majoring in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and he is a CFA® charterholder.
